Beginner Golfers: Improve Your Game with These Tips

Now that our golf course is officially open for business, we are excited to see players taking advantage of all that the course has to offer! We welcome players of all skill levels on our course, so if you’ve only picked up a club a handful of times in your life, know that a few simple tips can completely transform your game. Here are some tips that can help you become more comfortable on the links. Plus, experienced golfers can always use a brush up on the basics.

Create a Strong Stance

Your swing will only be as strong as your stance. Make sure to take a wide, solid stance with your feet at least shoulder-width apart. Make sure to keep your weight distributed evenly instead of putting all of your weight on one foot.

Perfect Your Grip

How you hold the club will have a big impact on how your golf game evolves. You can practice holding the club the right way even if you aren’t on the links which will make it second nature when you get on the course again.

Use Your Hips

Once you’ve perfected your grip, it’s time to focus on the swing itself. While it’s tempting to start your swing from your arms, it’s recommended to start the swing from your hips. Lead the motion with your hips followed by the arms for the best results.

Play with Friends

Playing on one of the best golf courses in Lake Geneva, WI is significantly more fun with friends. Surrounding yourself with other golfers is a great way to bond and learn tips.

We’re looking forward to seeing you on the golf course this year!
